Artwork Story
The ‘Healing to Bloom’ Painting Series represents my recent spiritual growth spurt as I have navigated through dealing with childhood trauma, change in my environment and relationships and subsequently finally allowing myself the room to bloom.
Painting ‘Searching My Soul’ began to process the daunting transition into communicating with people I thought I would never speak to again. As I painted, I reflected on the connections that are tethered to me from birth and looked truly deep within to understand their intentions and ideals. Looking back into the past can be dirty, painful work but it is work that needs to be done sometimes to heal. Through painting, I allow my spirit to speak, have a physical form and live in the colours. This artwork process has truly helped me move forward into my independence by allowing me to safely look back on my childhood and analyse the traumas, relationships and barriers that prevented me from being able to bloom.
